Lighthouse Baptist Church Ministries

We began our Jail Ministry in 2024 with the desire to serve in both the county jail and the state facilities. Currently, we hold monthly preaching services in the county jail as part of our commitment to outreach. It is an immense honor to share the Gospel with these individuals. Alongside our efforts in the Jail Ministry, we also engage in a Nursing Home Ministry and a Radio Ministry, where we have the privilege of preaching, counseling, praying, and singing with those we serve.

Our Nursing Home ministry began early in 2023, complementing our ongoing efforts in Jail Ministry and Radio Ministry. Over the past few years, we have had the privilege of meeting and ministering to numerous men and women residing in these retirement centers. As we engage with them, our hearts become intertwined with theirs, allowing us to share their burdens and forge meaningful connections. Currently, we offer services at two local retirement centers.

In March 2026, our church embarked on the significant endeavor of radio ministry, which complements our other outreach efforts, including jail ministry and nursing home ministry. Every Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m., we broadcast our message on WISK. This can be heard locally on 98.7 FM or streamed on their website. 

Additionally, WZYN in Valdosta, GA airs our broadcast daily at 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Listeners in Valdosta can tune in on 810 AM, or they can access it through the app or website.

Our founding Pastor, John Dent, began having Camp Meeting in 1986, and since then, we have gathered each April for a week of Old Fashioned Worship. The week is filled with preaching, singing, and shouting, as men of God and their families come from all over the Southeast—and sometimes even beyond. Among the community gathered are those involved in Jail Ministry, Nursing Home Ministry, and Radio Ministry, all unified by the same goal: to see the Lord, 'High and Lifted up.'

We offer Sunday School for all ages. No matter which class you or your child attends, the Word of God will be taught. In addition to our regular Sunday School, our Jail Ministry, Nursing Home Ministry, and Radio Ministry provide valuable opportunities to share God's message with those in need. In the Summer, we have 'Sunday School Summer Nights.' Instead of our normal Sunday School hour, we will have a night of Sunday School each month, followed by a time of fellowship and games.

Our church has a significant responsibility to reach the community with the Gospel. Through our various efforts, including the Jail Ministry and Nursing Home Ministry, we distribute numerous tracts, send tract mailers through the postal service, visit homes in the area, and engage in community witnessing. Additionally, our Radio Ministry helps extend our reach even further.
